After weeks of cryptic teasers and hints at new music being on the way, Carly Pearce officially confirmed her 29: Written in Stone follow-up, hummingbird, would be arriving on June 14.
However, on Carly's 34th birthday (April 24), the ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’ hitmaker shared the exciting news that she'd moved the project's release date a week sooner as a gift to her loyal fanbase. Now, hummingbird will drop on June 7 instead.
The eagerly awaited album will feature previously released singles, ‘country music made me do it’, ‘heels over head’, ‘my place’, the title-track and ‘we don't fight anymore’ with Chris Stapleton.
The latter, which earned Carly and Chris a 2024 Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, is a moving pre-break-up story revolving around the spark of love being gradually extinguished, leaving both lovers cold and apathetic.
In addition, hummingbird will comprise never-heard-before offerings such as ‘truck on fire’, ‘still blue’, ‘rock paper scissors’, ‘oklahoma’, ‘things I don't chase’, ‘fault line’ and ‘woman to woman’.
With 29: Written in Stone cementing Carly Pearce's status as one of the pre-eminent artists in the modern country landscape, hummingbird looks set to once again accelerate the Kentucky singer-songwriter's ascent into the genre's upper echelon.
