The headliners for one of the UK's biggest celebrations of Americana music, Black Deer Festival 2023, have been announced.

The June event will see high-profile acts such as Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Allison Russell and more taking to the Eridge Park stage in Kent.

Joining them will be The Teskey Brothers, Lucinda Williams, Calexico, Amythyst Kiah, Elles Bailey and more. The festival will be taking place on June 16-18 2023, following a successful 2022 event.

In addition, there will be the return of classic Black Deer Festival features, such as The Songwriter Sessions, Ozark Holler Hootenanny, Gospel Brunch and The Great Americana Songbook.

To coincide with Black Deer Festival 2023, Bonnie Raitt will also be performing a series of shows across the UK and Ireland throughout June.

The tour announcement was quickly followed by a series of Grammy nominations for Raitt, who received nods for Song of the Year, Best Americana Album, Best Americana Performance and Best American Roots Song.

As Americana music continues to build popularity across the UK at an increasing pace, Black Deer Festival is growing year-on-year in tandem.

Last year, big-name artists such as James, Wilco and Van Morrison delivered momentous sets for a packed-out crowd.

Based on the newly unveiled line-up, the 2023 instalment looks set to be another memorable occasion.
