Noah Kahan has teamed up with fellow folk trailblazers, Mt. Joy, for a stunning performance of the latter's ‘Bug Eyes’ during Out of the Blue Festival 2025 in Riviera Cancún, Mexico.
During night one at the packed-out, folk-inspired extravaganza, Noah Kahan surprised the crowd by teaming up with the Philadelphia band, with Kahan and Mt. Joy's frontman, Matt Quinn, matching one another's energy as they stormed across the stage.
Mt. Joy were performing before Kahan's headline set, with the impressive Out of the Blue Festival 2025 line-up also featuring The Lumineers, Michael Marcagi, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Lake Street Dive, The Japanese House, Wild Rivers and more.
The song-choice was immaculate, with Noah Kahan opting to showcase his extensive knowledge of Mt. Joy's catalogue by performing a fan-favourite, ‘Bug Eyes’, rather than choosing to join the band for one of their more well-known hits, such as ‘Silver Lining’.
After the performance, Noah Kahan took to X to underline his appreciation for Mt. Joy, with the ‘Stick Season’ hitmaker donning them the “best band in the world”. When a fan responded, “you don't know them like i know them”, Kahan stressed, “I know them deeply”.
Noah Kahan is currently believed to be working on his keenly anticipated Stick Season (Forever) follow-up album, with the Vermont native continuing to tease new tracks and lyrics via socials. On the basis of this collaborative performance, we're hoping Kahan decides to recruit Mt. Joy as a guest artist on the forthcoming record.
