Ever since he made the move into country, Post Malone has been immersing himself in Music City and embracing the tropes and staples that go hand-in-hand with the genre we love.
Bearing in mind the fact that Post Malone already had a deep-seated love for camo clothing, Bud Light and Hank Williams Jr., he was already halfway there - but now, he's taking his adoration for country music a step further with an endearing new purchase.
The ‘I Had Some Help’ hitmaker is now the owner of a beautiful grey-and-white horse, with Amarillo, Texas-based firm, Paige Horses LLC, confirming Post Malone has bought Ashtray.
It hasn't been confirmed what breed Ashtray is, but it looks like he could either be a Western Stock horse, or perhaps a Quarter horse, with both being used as traditional ranch horses.
Given Posty's penchant for smoking, the name of his new horse feels particularly apt, with Paige Horses LLC celebrating how their beloved Ashtray has a worthy owner.
“Not every day you get to sell one to the MAN himself…Post Malone”, the official Paige Horses LLC Facebook page outlined, “We are extremely grateful and appreciate every single one of our customers. This puts into perspective what one person’s happy horse-buying experience can turn into. We are humbled to our cores”.
They went on, “Ashtray has the coolest new owner in the world…LITERALLY! Cheers Austin! You gotcha a once in a lifetime horse, all 1450 lbs of him. Now, you go can Ranch On Em!”
In a video posted by Paige Horses LLC in the comments section, Post Malone can be heard gushing about the sweet horse and joking about how it felt as though it was fate, “He's got the little grey, he's got the white and his name is Ashtray. That's destiny!”
Of course, Post Malone is no stranger to spending time with his equine pals on-screen, with the ‘Guy For That’ crooner riding a horse in the music video for the Hank Williams Jr.-assisted ‘Finer Things’, one of the many highlights from his 2024 album, F-1Trillion.
Then, the genre-blending trailblazer appeared in an amusing sketch alongside a stunning grey speckled horse in the advertisement for his UGG Boots collaboration in October, during which Post Malone hilariously attempts to get his horse to cross a puddle.
Now, he can enjoy the company of Ashtray as Post Malone doubles-down on the cowboy aesthetic. Could Ashtray be the first of many to come? Is Post building his own ranch?
Who knows, but we're hoping his new buddy will serve as an inspiring muse for some classic Texas country tunes on the ‘Pour Me a Drink’ singer-songwriter's F-1Trillion follow-up record.
