Ashley Cooke has earned her first ever UK Country Radio Airplay Chart No. 1 with her much-loved single, ‘your place’, which arrived as part of 2023's acclaimed shot in the dark album.
On this week's chart (April 26-May 2), which is ranked according to total impressions across a selection of UK Country Radio stations, rather than number of plays, ‘your place’ racked up an impressive 901,200 impressions across five stations.
This marked a 53% increase compared to the previous frame, with Ashley Cooke's slow-burning, post-break-up anthem also notching more plays than any other song, with 115.
Slotting in at No. 2 is Nate Smith's fiery track, ‘Bulletproof’, which tallied 633,547 impressions. If the success of Nate's previous Country Radio single, ‘World On Fire’, which secured a record-equalling ten weeks across the other side of The Pond on Billboard's Country Airplay Chart earlier in the year, then we can likely expect ‘Bulletproof’ to hit No. 1 on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart this time next Sunday.
Last week's chart-topper, Sam Hunt's ‘Outskirts’, drops to No. 3, with the Top 5 being completed by another previous UK Country Radio No. 1, Dasha's viral hit, ‘Austin’, and Lainey Wilson's Bell Bottom Country highlight, ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’.
The biggest riser on this week's listing is Twinnie's ‘Lonely Long’, which enters at No. 50 with a 1136% boost in impressions. Another notable mover is Lainey's traditional-leaning 2024 fan-favourite, ‘Country's Cool Again’, which picked up an 818% increase in impressions. The swaggering, uptempo track is widely tipped to be the title-track from the 2023 CMA Entertainer of the Year's forthcoming album.
