Anne Wilson has shared a wonderfully stripped-back rendition of Brooks & Dunn's beloved ‘90s anthem, ‘Neon Moon’, with Wilson expressing her excitement ahead of opening for both the iconic country duo and Morgan Wallen this summer.

It comes shortly after the ‘Rain in the Rearview’ singer-songwriter shared a touching rendition of Wallen's evocative, introspective ode, ‘Don't Think Jesus’, with Wilson ensuring the anticipation remains high ahead of their upcoming shows together.

The Country and Contemporary Christian genre-blender opens for Morgan Wallen alongside Brooks and Dunn in Seattle, Washington and Santa Clara, California in late July and August, with Anne Wilson joining one of the biggest tours of the year.

Morgan Wallen and Anne Wilson also have a couple of shows lined up with Miranda Lambert. With Wilson sharing covers of Wallen and Brooks & Dunn in recent months, we're keeping our fingers crossed we'll get to hear a faith-filled, gospel-inspired take on one of Lambert's rock-tinged country earworms in the coming weeks - perhaps the new single, ‘Trailblazer’, which features Lainey Wilson and Reba McEntire.

In the caption, Anne Wilson gushes, “I can’t wait for my shows this summer on the @morganwallen tour!! Going to be so incredible to share the stage with @brooksanddunn”.

‘Neon Moon’ is always a formidable track to cover, with Ronnie and Kix's inimitable vocals lighting up the original version, but the Kentucky native undoubtedly does it justice. Anne Wilson's rich, soulful delivery accentuates the emotion of the track, with Wilson's vocals combining beautifully with the sparse instrumental.

It was an apt song-choice, given the fact that Brooks and Dunn released a reimagined version of ‘Neon Moon’ with Morgan Wallen last year as part of their Reboot II project.

We're hoping Morgan Wallen, who paid tribute to Anne Wilson during his recent appearance on Theo Von's This Past Weekend, will bring out Wilson for a duet in either Washington or California - or both - as the latter continues to bring her unique, uplifting fusion of vibrant storytelling and spiritually-minded lyricism to the country music world.
