“4x4xU Forever”: Lainey Wilson Announces Engagement to Long-Term Boyfriend, Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges

Lainey Wilson and Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges have announced their engagement in a heartwarming new Instagram carousel, with Hodges seemingly proposing to Wilson outside their home.

In the endearing new post, Lainey Wilson captioned the photos with a nod to her 2024 track, ‘4X4XU’, which was believed to be inspired by the ‘Hang Tight Honey’ hitmaker's relationship with Hodges. The Louisiana native has shared, “4x4xU forever ❤️”.

The photos include a shot of the ring, and Lainey Wilson reacting to the proposal by holding her face in her hands. Aptly, it looks like Devlin Hodges hid the ring in a miniature cowboy hat, with the football player laying out a romantic spread of candles, red roses and framed photographs of him and Wilson on the front doorstep.

Wilson and Ottawa Redbacks quarterback have been dating for a while, with the two keeping their relationship private until hard-launching on the 2023 ACM Awards Red Carpet.

Fans are joking that the wife of one of Lainey Wilson's closest friends, Jelly Roll, Bunnie XO, might have helped speed up the proposal process via her CMT interview in December.

While chatting to Lainey Wilson, Bunnie admitted that she's been rooting for Devlin Hodges to propose, “I’m manifesting for you and Duck to get married. I’m putting it in the air. Duck - you better come with it, baby”, before Wilson quipped, “No pressure, brother”.

Then, Lainey Wilson light-heartedly teased, “I might have to propose to him. We waiting”, with the Dumbe Blonde Podcast host assuring her, “No, Duck’s gonna do it. I can feel it”.

There's no news just yet about a wedding date, but we're hoping this new adventure brings Lainey Wilson plenty more musical inspiration ahead of her Whirlwind follow-up album.

The ‘Country's Cool Again’ crooner is gearing up to embark on her sprawling World Tour of the same name this year, featuring support from Muscadine Bloodline, ERNEST and more.
