Some people would take a break in the summer after having as monumental a year as Tucker Wetmore has had - but not the ‘Brunette’ singer. Taking to social media to announce the release of his latest EP Sunburn Mixtape, Wetmore sent fans into a frenzy with its July 31 release date and sunshine soaked aesthetic.

With the success of his Brunette World Tour, Wetmore has become one of country music’s biggest names. Racking up millions of streams and taking home the 2026 ACM New Male Artist of the Year, the last couple of years have been spent firmly establishing his name with catchy country-pop leaning tracks.

The Sunburn Mixtape is home to hit singles ‘Sunburn’ and ‘Proving Me Right’ alongside three newly released songs and follows Wetmore’s 2025 debut album What Not To. Speculation about who inspired some of Mixtape’s songs began upon release of first single ‘Sunburn’, and are only set to keep growing. After being spotted together holidaying in the British Virgin Islands at the end of 2025, rumours of a romantic relationship between Wetmore and current country It-girl Ella Langley have had fans going crazy ever since.

Other tracks, like ‘Crazy To Yourself’ tell a story of a girl who seems to only show her true self to Wetmore, with a similar idea to the track ‘98%’, could it be that the whole EP has connections to possible mystery girl, Langley? Fans appear to think so.

Sticking to the synth-heavy beachy vibe that Wetmore is starting to make his signature, ‘98%’ is full to the brim with added vocals and a pop-leaning feel. A catchy beat runs throughout the track keeping the laidback, uptempo backing playing out easily against Wetmore’s voice.

Like other tracks on the Sunburn Mixtape EP, there’s a slight retro disco feel to the song that neatly ties the collection together and marks it as a distinct moment in Wetmore’s discography.

‘98%’ follows ‘Crazy To Yourself’ on Wetmore's EP’s tracklisting, and it seems like there’s a reference to the previous track on the first verse - whilst our singer, Wetmore, was telling the girl he was with to let her crazy out, this time he’s recognising his own “crazy”.

Once again though, Wetmore is looking for the “real” version of this girl, stripping back the “Little Miss Perfect” and instead, letting her other side out. If we’re thinking about who this track could be about, well, Miss Ella Langley has been feeling like the Perfect country girl recently… right?

Although this girl is mostly an “angel”, she’s got another side to her, even if it is just 2% of her personality. Whether it’s spending the night together, dancing just for Wetmore, he says she can’t hide it when she’s with him and he doesn't want her to, either.
