The Earl Scruggs Music Festival will make its return to Mill Spring, North Carolina on September 1-3 2023, with Jerry Douglas being confirmed as the first headliner.
The Earl Scruggs Music Festival honours the life and legacy of American icon and musical legend, Earl Scruggs, who was born in the small Flint Hill community of nearby Cleveland County, NC.
Best known for bringing the “Scruggs style” of playing the five-string banjo to the world, he crossed musical boundaries and collaborated with artists across musical genres, creating an innovative body of work during his lifetime.
Bringing the best of bluegrass, Americana and roots music together, the Earl Scruggs Music Festival is a multi-day celebration of Scruggs’ incredible contributions to music and the rich musical culture of the region.

Earl Scruggs Music Festival held its inaugural event in September 2022, which saw sets from Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Leftover Salmon, Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway, Bela Fleck's My Bluegrass Heart, Jerry Douglas, Rissi Palmer, Town Mountain, Bella White and many more.
