For anyone feeling the creeping bleakness of the winter months, here's something to fall instantly in love with and listen to for comfort as the nights draw in. BOWEN * YOUNG are a new Americana duo made up of Clare Bowen – who played Scarlett O’Connor in the hit TV show Nashville - and her husband Brandon Robert Young. ‘Dangerous Love’ is the follow up to ‘Skeletons’ from September.

Written after an assailant broke into their Nashville home, and attempted to beat down their bedroom door to get to them, the tender and vulnerable duet is filled with a breathtakingly raw honesty that comes from going through any of life’s big moments. Thankfully, the police stopped the intruder, but the event left the couple exhausted emotionally and physically.

“Honey I'd do unholy things for you”, they sing, their aching vocals melting together and clutching onto one another as a wailing guitar grinds away in the distance and a whirring organ picks up and slams the song down again. “I’d give my life and I’d take one too / For this shameless and dangerous love”.

"'Dangerous Love' was written just two days after a terrifying home invasion left us reeling”, the pair explain. “Running on no sleep, and feeling a complete lack of creativity, we sat down in our friend and producer Sean McConnell’s studio, and shared what had happened. After several hours, the glimmer of an idea took hold of us, and Sean picked up a guitar and said 'What if it goes a little something like this?' In less than an hour, the story of what we went through that night had been shaped into a song, and 'Dangerous Love' was born."

The song is premiering exclusively at Holler below.

The song was produced by songwriter and producer Sean McConnell (Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts).

The story of BOWEN * YOUNG is one that will have any incurable romantics reaching for the tissue box! For all those faithless non-believers out there, just try this chunk of undeniable serendipity on for size.

In 2013 Brandon Robert Young was a last-minute replacement for Clare Bowen’s no-show duet partner for her first solo set at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Immediately hitting it off - both onstage and off - Brandon proposed to Clare at the Ryman Auditorium during the couple’s Grand Ole Opry set in 2015 and they were married by John Carter Cash at the Cash Cabin in 2017.

“The first tour we went out on as BOWEN * YOUNG was my favorite tour ever. Since meeting Brandon, my ultimate musical goal had been for he and I to be a duo”, remembers Clare. “I was standing in the wings, waiting to go out for our first show in 2021, when I realized that for the very first time, I was about to walk onstage without the loneliness I had felt for so long, centre stage by myself. Everything finally felt right. The spotlight can be such fun, but nothing beats standing in it with the love of my life.”

No, we’re not crying! It’s just an unusually high pollen count for this time of year and it’s taken us by surprise.

With Clare’s time spent playing Scarlett O’Conner on Nashville at an end and following Brandon’s decade of touring with Americana legend John Hiatt and collaborations with Grammy Award-winning artists Emmylou Harris, Colin Linden, and Mikky Ekko, there’s no better time than now for their intimate hypnotic harmonies to find their way into the hearts of music fans the world over.

'Dangerous Love' is available to stream and buy from November 4th
