Country singer Gabby Barrett appeared on American Idol in 2018, and made it as far as the finale where she came in third.

Barrett returned to the show in 2019 to perform her new single 'I Hope'. During that appearance, she shared that she'd signed to Warner Music Nashville.

In 2020, she released a version of 'I Hope' with Charlie Puth. That single climbed to No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Songs chart, and spent so much time there that it became the longest-running No. 1 by a solo female act on the chart.

Barrett's success continued mounting. She won the CMT Award for Female Video of the Year, and Top Female Country Artist at the Billboard Music Awards. 'I Hope' also took home the BBMA for Top Country Song and the fan-voted Top Collaboration.

Barrett released her debut album Goldmine in 2020. It featured the single 'Good Ones', which also went to No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Songs chart.
