John Hollier

SET LIST

'Feed The Flame'

'Lonesome Highway'

'Reckless Love'

There's a fire inside John Hollier.

It was sparked early on in his native Louisiana, where music was a way of life, infused in everything from Saturday nights at the local honky-tonks to Sunday morning church services. That flame was only fanned into adulthood as he made his way to Nashville, soon hitting the road as a guitarist-for-hire for the likes of Dwight Yoakam, Heart, Billy Currington and beyond.

It was during a stint working as a touring guitarist for major acts like Cassadee Pope and Carly Pearce that the flame spread. Hollier burned to release his own material, the singer-songwriter setting out to make a name for himself with pockets full of heart-worn songs.

He's done just that, packing houses and raking in streams with his rough-and-ready brand of country-tinged and soul-fueled heartland rock.

During the Holler Nashville Sessions, Hollier rattled off a trifecta of such tunes, including his latest single 'Feed the Flame', a smoldering opus with which the artist revealed some of that blaze within.

Where 'Feed the Flame' ignited pure unbridled energy within the bandleader, his next offering, 'The Lonesome Highway', saw him take a step back, gently stoking the embers with the haunting ballad.

Soft strings and a pattering beat gave life to the balmy tune, Hollier's pained baritone breathing the song's wounded heroine into existence. "Golden hair falling softly down," he crooned. "She's no stranger to the ways of the lost and found / So just take if you dare / She ain't taking the high road / She's just coming up for air."

As 'The Lonesome Highway' burned out much the way it began, with the dying notes of a delicate waltz, a new song was born from the ashes.

From the anthemic 'Reckless Love', brought forth from a blanketing of singeing steel and a jangling beat, erupted the very best of the singer-songwriter, the song sparking with courage, strength and wisdom alongside his bold song-styling.

With his final tune, like a fearless dare, he invited listeners to take chances in life and in love, to put their money where their mouths are and gamble on a little reckless love.
