Vincent Neil Emerson has announced a new self-titled album.

The record is set to be released on June 25th via La Honda Records/Thirty Tigers, and will be a collection of 10 autobiographical songs produced by Rodney Crowell.

Emerson draws influence from songwriting greats such as Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Steve Earle, but writes with a fresh and unique approach.

Raised in East Texas, Emerson is proving himself as an essential new voice within the country music community.

The first track to be revealed off the album is the devastating, ‘Learnin’ To Drown’ which addresses Emerson’s father's suicide.

"I've been trying to write a song about my father's passing for a while," he says. "I was just having a hard time processing that emotionally.

Before I was always trying to find a way to kind of dance around it and not really give too much away. But there's no beating around the bush here."

This openness and honesty is perhaps the most striking element of the album. With the pandemic shutting down live music venues and cancelling tours, he processed the upheaval through song writing.

These intense and productive writing sessions resulted in ten finished songs over the course of just a couple of months, a body of work so personal that he knew he would have to name the final product Vincent Neil Emerson.
