It's safe to say, Miranda Lambert is up to something.
Lambert took to social media on Monday to hint to fans that she’s working on something new. In a TikTok video showing various tweets from fans to Lambert, you can hear voices and a guitar - as if from in a studio, gearing up for a take. Lambert also posted the video to twitter with a winking emoji, where she also tagged fellow artist Jack Ingram and songwriter/producer Jon Randall.
The singer has spoken recently about getting to spend so much alone time with husband Brendan McLoughlin during the pandemic. She said “We didn't date very long before we got married, and so we sort of got to just really get to know each other. Cause it was just us two with no distraction, at my farm outside of Nashville. And so I was really thankful for it because it made us really strong”. The artist's last record, Wildcard, was released at the end of 2019 but the supporting tour was cut short due to Covid 19. This potential new record would be Lambert’s 8th studio album.
Lambert is set to play three nights at Billy Bob's Texas next month. The venue in Fort Worth, known as the ‘World’s Largest Honky Tonk’, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, with it set to welcome a whole host of Country superstars throughout 2021. Lambert says the shows will be performed “safely and right” for the Covid-19 era - with each event taking place in a reduced capacity, social distancing measures and other pandemic protocols in place.
Lambert recently released a new song featuring Elle King. The duet, ’Drunk (And I don’t Wanna Go Home)’ came out last Friday, February 26th. Watch the video below.
