Luke Bryan has tested positive for COVID-19.
The positive test forces him to pull out of his ACM Awards performance on Sunday night.
The American Idol judge, who recently released his latest single 'Waves' to country radio, was scheduled to pre-tape his performance for the ACMs, but his positive Covid test scuppered those plans.
Luke Bryan recently released a deluxe edition of his latest album ‘Born Here Live Here Die Here’, and he is among the nominees for the Academy of Country Music’s top prize on Sunday night - Entertainer of the Year.
Airing on CBS and Paramount+, the 56th ACM Awards will present a series of live and pre-taped performances at various venues around Nashville and will hand out awards in a Covid-safe setting.
Early winners at the ACM Awards include Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett who won New Male and New Female Artist of the Year and Kane Brown who took home the award for Video of the Year.
Miranda Lambert and Elle King are set to open the show with the live debut of their song ‘Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)’.
