Mickey Guyton, Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris all performed, one after another, in a showcase of country music.

Guyton began the run of performances with an emotional rendition of her Grammy nominated song ‘Black Like Me’. The song narrowly missed out on a prize for Solo Country Performance of the Year to Vince Gill’s ‘When My Amy Prays’. Guyton performed the powerful song before introducing Miranda Lambert. Lambert, who took home the award for Country Album of the Year, took part in a colourful yet intimate performance of ‘Bluebird’.

This was swiftly followed by country powerhouse Maren Morris, who teamed up with friend and fellow artist John Mayer for a high energy performance of her smash hit ‘The Bones’. Meanwhile Brandi Carlile - who earlier in the evening had picked up a Grammy alongside co-writers Natalie Hemby and Lori McKenna - performed a tribute to the late John Prine, who passed away last year due to Coronavirus.

Lionel Richie also performed a touching tribute to country King Kenny Rogers in that segment of the show. A fairytale set was also constructed for Taylor Swift’s medley of songs that featured on Folklore and Evermore. The show really shone a light on the leading ladies of the country genre!
