Just when you think you couldn’t love something any more than you already do, something comes along and makes you fall in love with it all over again in a whole new way.

Miko Marks’ Water to Wine’ was already one of our absolute favourites off her 2021 album Our Country, and now she’s gone and covered it in lashings of whipped cream and stuck a cherry on top by adding Melissa Carper to a completely reimagined version of it.

“The song was written during Covid and it was after we had written so many heavy songs,” Miko Marks told us. “We wanted to lighten things up and take some of the heaviness off of the state of the world that we were living in. The song is all about having hope. If water can be turned to wine, anything is possible."

"Doing it with Melissa Carper has given it a whole new texture," she adds, talking about her duet partner. "It blended us together in such a beautiful way - she took everyone back with her sound and her voice and I brought the gospel, church into the song. I’ll sing any song with her, any day.”

We won’t mind if she does! Like a giant helping of hope and a much needed light in the darkness, Miko Marks and Melissa Carper sprinkle a little fairydust on their blues with a song that’s guaranteed to put a big unlikely smile on your face any time you need it in these troubled times.

The song is premiering exclusively on Holler below.

‘Water to Wine (feat. Melissa Carper)’ is released on November 17th on Redtone Records.
