Country star Garth Brooks performed 'Amazing Grace' at Joe Biden's presidential inauguration, today, January 20.
Joining Lady Gaga, who sang the national anthem, and Jennifer Lopez, Garth Brooks took to the mic during the ceremony, after Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris had been sworn in.
Though there were jokes that Brooks would be "the only Republican at the ceremony", the singer responded saying, "This is not a political statement, this is a statement of unity. This is an honor for me to get to serve ... and it's one of the things that, if my family is around, no matter who the president-elect is, it's an honor to be asked."
During his performance, Brooks encouraged the audience - "not just the people here, but the people at work, at home; as one, united" - to join him in singing.
Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard will also be taking to the stage during the Celebrating America TV special, hosted by Tom Hanks, later this evening.
