After debuting it during a show last week, Zach Top has taken to social media to announce his brand new single, ‘Good Girls & Cowgirls’. Top will release the song on August 21st.

The video, which features a short concert clip of Top performing his new song for the first time in front of a packed-out Montana crowd on his Cold Beer & Country Music Summer Tour.

“Thanks for being our guinea pigs, Montana! New song “Good Girls & Cowgirls” is out August 21”, the ‘South of Sanity’ hitmaker writes.

Fans danced enthusiastically as Top's band jammed to the tune's traditional country sound, one Top is certainly no stranger to. The song light-heartedly compares 'Cowgirls' to 'Good Girls', using the 'I Never Lie' hit maker's classic country wit and imagery, with lyrics such as "Good girls are made of sugar and spice, cowgirls are made of whiskey and ice."

The lyrics reflect that of which only a cowboy such as Top can learn from experience, as he playfully spells out “Cowgirls like to take it outside / They love to dance and they know how to ride / They'll do things that'll make you lose your mind", to a crowd of fans lucky enough to be a part of this exclusive experience.

Nothing beats the classics - and it's refreshing how this song has no intention of shying away from a traditional country sound, because ultimately, it doesn't need to. In a modern country landscape, full of artists eager to experiment with a cool, new sound, Top keeps it original. The Washington native's discography offers a soft place for old school listeners to land in a world of new age country, as well as introducing contemporary fans just discovering the branches to the roots of country music.

Though we're not sure what direction Top will take following the release of this song, any sign of new music is good news for his loyal fanbase. With any luck, this could be the beginning of the rollout for a new album, a craving that fans have expressed with comments such as "We need another album Mr. Zachary" under his new post.
