Following his electrifying Stagecoach headline set on the opening day of the California country extravaganza, Zach Bryan has been keeping fans updated via Instagram as the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker stuck around to enjoy the rest of the festival.
After taking to his Instagram Stories to offer a recap of the weekend and to express his heartfelt gratitude for everyone that attended his momentous Friday night set, Zach Bryan shared a photo of him partying backstage alongside Shaboozey.
Although Zach Bryan's sparse, folk-leaning style and Shaboozey's R&B-infused, Wild-West-inspired aesthetic might seem miles apart at first, the latter has spoken before about how Bryan influenced him during the creation of his 2024 album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going and his break-out smash, ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’.
Given the fact that Shaboozey has been broadening his horizons yet again by teaming up with Jelly Roll, Myles Smith and Sierra Ferrell for his new Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going: The Complete Edition, could a Zach Bryan duet be on the cards?
Despite their apparent sonic disparities, we think a link-up between these two genre-blending pioneers would sound fantastic. Shaboozey's artistry and narrative dexterity delves far deeper than the levity and escapism of ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’, with the Virginia native crafting rich, expansive vignettes throughout his catalogue.
While we don't think Zach Bryan will ever dip his toes into the trap-leaning world that Shaboozey sometimes ventures into, we could certainly see Shaboozey embracing the folkier ambience that Bryan tends to prefer. On stellar tracks such as ‘East Of The Massanutten’, ‘Finally Over’ and ‘Fire and Gasoline’, Shaboozey explores dark, brooding arrangements that lend themselves to the atmosphere and compositions Zach Bryan often opts for during his solo work.
Of course, at the moment, this is just an innocent picture of the duo hanging out - but the fact that Shaboozey has confirmed he's a fan of Zach Bryan's work in the past has us hoping the artists discussed the prospect of a momentous collaboration.
Shaboozey is becoming increasingly prolific when it comes to joining forces with other artists. Even though he only released his deluxe album on Friday (April 25th), the ‘Highway’ crooner immediately followed this up with a shot of him seemingly recording new music alongside his ‘Drink Don't Need No Mix’ collaborator, BigXthaPlug.
In addition, during his March 2025 interview with Holler, Shaboozey revealed his dream collaboration would be Future, as well as outlining his intentions to hit the studio with Morgan Wallen. Shaboozey previously suggested Wallen was due to appear on Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going, but that it didn't work out in the end.
As Zach Bryan continues to hone his keenly anticipated With Heaven On Top EP and Motorbreath album, we'll be keeping our fingers crossed he finds room for a Shaboozey feature on one of those projects before he kicks off his summer run of shows.
