Singer-songwriter Zach Bryan is set to play the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado on August 10, and the hype is building quickly. However, it seems like getting tickets might be even more of a last-minute gamble than normal.
Bryan announced the show back on June 9, taking to social media to explain that “none of these tickets will be more than 50 bucks plus the fees”, further explaining that he “wasn’t planning on playing this, but a spot opened up and [he] wanted to play an affordable show for the fans”. Not only will Red Rocks be an affordable show, but it will be the experience of a lifetime as the amphitheatre is hailed as being one of the greatest live music venues of all time.
The last time Bryan played Red Rocks was back in 2022, a show that has been forever immortalised in his All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster live album. The show saw Bryan sing songs like ‘Snow’ and ‘November Air’ in freezing temperatures as snow fell on cowboy hats, the singer going on to apologise profusely for the weather. This time though, it’s looking like it will be an all- night summer revival.
Taking to social media on July 27, Bryan posted a comment from a fan saying “wish I could find cheaper tickets for your red rocks concert” - his reply was a little abrupt, but perhaps that’s to be expected. “Keep gettin stuff like this, the tickets are not for sale. They go on sale the day of the show. The people selected for the tickets will be able to purchase them - day of - to limit the pieces of shit who resell them.” Hopefully this will reduce the number of scalpers who sell tickets on at high prices and maximise the number of real ZB fans making it to the concert. For anyone wanting to get tickets though, it’s going to be a nerve wracking wait until show day.
The ‘Pink Skies’ singer has been committed to trying to get tickets directly into the hands of fans for a while, it’s where the All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster album title comes from after all. So despite the ticketing issues, Bryan is still excited to be taking up the Denver stage again, “God speed n I can’t wait to see everyone out there” he expressed. As with any artist, there’s only so much he can do, and it seems like he’s perhaps done all as he can to help with ticket accessibility now. Bryan certainly thinks so, signing off his comments on socials with “leave me outta this.”
We hope anyone trying to get their hands on tickets gets lucky and that it’s a night as special as his 2022 Red Rocks show, perhaps we’ll even get another live album out of it. It’s something to look forward to, and in the words of the ‘I Remember Everything’ singer himself, “it’s gonna be awesome.”
