Zach Bryan has announced that his hotly anticipated new music video for ‘Nine Ball’, featuring Hollywood stars Matthew McConaughey and Tye Sheridan, is “coming soon”.
As well as sharing the official poster and confirming the video's impending unveiling, Zach Bryan has taken to X to express his gratitude for everyone who helped bring the project to fruition, “Thank you to every cameraman and set hand that shared the weight”. At the start of February, Zach shared a short trailer video for ‘Nine Ball’.
The ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker is believed to have recorded the visuals at The Sagebrush, Austin ahead of his packed-out ‘secret show’ earlier in January. Shortly after the performance, the venue's booker, Chasen Wayne, revealed to Holler that McConaughey and Sheridan had recorded a music video for Zach.
Zach has been teasing the video for a number of weeks now, with the folk-leaning crooner including an easter egg at the end of his ‘Boys of Faith’ visuals hinting at an immanent release for the ‘Nine Ball’ video, which some believe will act as a sequel of sorts.
Now, Zach Bryan has revealed the movie-style promotional poster for ‘Nine Ball’, with the two Texans, Matthew McConaughey and Tye Sheridan, set to lead the narrative.
The poster features the key lyric from ‘Nine Ball’, “My Father Was A Betting Man”, emblazoned across the top, with McConaughey seemingly portraying the father in the story.
It's unclear whether Zach himself will feature, with the chart-topping songsmith sitting out the music videos for ‘Boys of Faith’ and ‘Oklahoma Smokeshow‘. However, many are speculating that his Sagebrush performance will serve as the video's finale, in a similar fashion to how Tyler Childers and his band appear at the end of ‘In Your Love’.
‘Nine Ball’ was released as part of Zach Bryan's celebrated Boys of Faith EP, which dropped in September 2023. Although ‘Nine Ball’ is undoubtedly loved by listeners, some were expecting the Noah Kahan-assisted ‘Sarah's Place’ or the longstanding fan-favourite, ‘Deep Satin’, to be the next song to be given an accompanying set of visuals.
Regardless, we're keenly looking forward to seeing the full video for ‘Nine Ball’, and McConaughey and Sheridan's involvement has only whetted our appetites further ahead of the release.
