Yesterday (Sunday 13th April) fans at Lainey Wilson’s Bell Bottoms Up bar off Broadway in Nashville were treated to a surprise pop-up performance from the Bell Bottom Country Queen herself, in celebration of the release of her brand new single.
There wasn’t an official announcement, but the clues were there. Wilsons’ ‘Heart Like A Truck Fund’ posted their 413 mile journey to a map dot in Tennessee, captioned, “Where are we headin’, y’all?! 😉👖” and Bell Bottoms Up bar posted an Instagram Story saying, “y’all get your bell bottoms up to the rooftop today at 2pm! Xo, Lainey”.
Decorated with two towers of balloons in a variety of blue hues, silver sparkles and a splash of leopard print, the outside of the bar mirrored the new ‘Bell Bottoms Up’ single artwork perfectly. And so did Lainey.
Arriving in full leopard print suit and simple black cowboy hat - possibly a nod to Shania Twain’s iconic ‘90s outfit of a very similar ilk - Wilson brought her slick Western style as always.
The show was to celebrate the release of her new single, ‘Bell Bottoms Up’, which was inspired by the bar, but Wilson also treated fans to an afternoon of her classics, including ‘Watermelon Moonshine’, ‘Hang Tight Honey’ and ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’.
Newly engaged and still very much in a bubble of bliss, Wilson introduced her love-song as such. “I’ll play y’all a love song cos ya girl done fooled around and fell in love…I got engaged about a month ago,” she professed as she showed off her rock to the crowd, “He’s a brave man so if y’all don’t mind keepin’ him in your prayers, he’s gonna need it…but I’m so excited for this next chapter of my life. This is called ‘4X4XU’.”
A secret pop-up show from Lainey Wilson, singing ‘Bell Bottoms Up’, in her Bell Bottoms Up Bar – what a great day to be on Broadway.
