Wyatt Flores has just unveiled another ode to his beloved homeland, serenading the rest of small town America, as well, with 'Little Town'.
The jangly new tune arrived Friday (Oct. 11), carrying with it an enticing twang-textured groove and earnest words to live by. "Now, I’m holding on," Flores sings in the song's chorus. "After everyone else is moving on / I’ve never felt the need to go seek higher ground / As long as I’ve got you I’ll stick around / This little town."
'Little Town' joins the previously released 'Don't Wanna Say Goodnight' and 'Oh Susanna', all set to appear on the artist's official full-length debut, Welcome to the Plains.
The album arrives Oct. 18, bearing, across its 14 tracks, some of Flores' most personal work to date.
"I was born and raised on the Oklahoma Plains and you’re gonna feel that in my music," he detailed on social media upon the album's announcement. "The songs I write are stories from my life and my home."
In an interview with Holler, the artist delved even deeper into the upcoming release, explaining how Welcome to the Plains will differ significantly from anything he's shared thus far.
“Before, I've been trying to write different styles and play different kinds of music," he said. "This time, I'm hoping I give the full compass of who I am as a musician and a songwriter. It's a variety pack, for sure. It's not just one solid thing over and over again, and I've really had to push myself on this album...Of course, I want the album to do well, but I'd rather be proud of something I've created”.
