Bailey Zimmerman has a felony warrant out for his arrest in New Mexico, according to reports revealed by PEOPLE and TMZ.
The news emerged last night (Monday, June 22nd), with Zimmerman facing charges relating to his conduct at the Sandia Resort and Casino on May 27th.
These include a misdemeanor charge for falsely obtaining services, due to an unpaid $400 alcohol bill, along with a fourth-degree felony for criminal damage to property over $1,000. Zimmerman was meant to perform at the resort on May 27th, but cancelled the show hours before, sharing via social media that he had “not been feeling well”.
The warrant was issued on June 18th, with Zimmerman currently in the middle of the Canadian leg of his Different Night, Same Rodeo Tour, promoting his album of the same name.
According to an affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, Zimmerman “appeared to be exhibiting signs of intoxication” during soundcheck, destroying a guitar and allegedly spitting in the direction of a Sandia security officer. He was reportedly then driven back to the resort in an SUV, after initially refusing to enter the vehicle due to it being white, not black.
When back at the resort, the Illinois native was allegedly “seen stumbling down the hallway toward his room” with blood on his left knee, before being given a deadline to leave the property. He was reportedly non-compliant at first, leading to the resort calling the Sandia Police, but then agreed to leave of his own volition.
According to the affidavit, after Zimmerman had departed, the hotel room was found in disarray, with more than $16,000 worth of damage, including a broken TV and phone, missing furniture, a hole in the wall and more, along with an unpaid $400 alcohol charge.
At the time, Zimmerman apologised to fans for cancelling both the Sandia Resort show and a date at Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park, California, explaining, “Y’all know there’s nothing I love more than getting out on the road and playing these shows for you, so it’s so hard for me to have to say this, but I have to reschedule tonight’s (5/27) and Saturday’s (5/30) shows. I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I’m not able to give you all the show you deserve”.
The ‘Rock and a Hard Place’ singer-songwriter went on, “I hate letting y’all down and was really looking forward to these shows, but I gotta take care of myself so I can get back out there stronger. We will be announcing the rescheduled dates as soon as possible, and all tickets will be honored for the new dates. Love y’all so much, and I appreciate the prayers and understanding - I’ll see you real soon”.
It's not the first time Zimmerman has been subject to suggestions of being inebriated ahead of a performance, with the country chart-topper infamously stumbling his way through his Crash My Playa set in January 2025, later apologising to fans for his performance at the show.
It's still early in the proceedings, but naturally, ticket-holders are concerned as to whether Zimmerman will be able to continue his 2026 Different Night, Same Rodeo Tour - particularly his international dates, with Zimmerman due to kick off his UK and Europe run in late August. He is also due to headline the UK's Long Road Festival.
