Just a matter of days after sharing a photo from the studio, Post Malone has confirmed he's working on a brand new album - and, excitingly, that it will be another country project.
During a discussion with Billboard ahead of his blockbuster Coachella 2025 headline set, the ‘Circles’ hitmaker touched on recent writing sessions in Nashville with the likes of ERNEST, HARDY and Thomas Rhett, “We just have fun. We just sit and fucking talk and make songs. And so I’m pretty excited for the new record already”.
The famously prolific artist has revealed he has a wealth of music in the can, sharing that he's “made probably 35 songs; it’s just a matter of which one’s rock, and which one’s sock”.
After the widespread acclaim that met his debut country effort, F-1Trillion - which is up for Album of the Year at the 2025 ACM Awards next month - fans will be glad to hear Post Malone is looking to create more in the same vein for his forthcoming project.
Post Malone reflected on his journey into country music so far, “[F-1Trillion] was just fucking bitching. It was so fun to make. And I said in an interview a while ago, ‘When I’m 30 years old, I’m gonna make a country record.’ And I made it at 29, so I wasn’t too far off. But you know, it just happened naturally. I was like, ‘Fuck it, let’s go to Nashville. Let’s give it a go.’ I think finally bringing the fun back into what I was doing really showed on the record. And I think a lot of folks had fun listening to it. And we’re going to attempt to do it again. I’m excited to keep going”.
As for when we can expect Post Malone's F-1Trillion follow-up, it seems the genre-blending trailblazer might have his sights set on extending his one-album-a-year streak.
When asked whether we can expect another body of work to drop in 2025, Post Malone hinted, “Hopefully”, before teasing, “We’ll have some music releasing very, very soon”.
Post Malone's electrifying Coachella set saw the bearded crooner taking attendees on a rip-roaring adventure through his discography, with Post incorporating anthems from his trap, indie-pop and country eras into his sprawling setlist. Post returns to the Coachella stage this Sunday (April 20th) for his second headline set.
