One of the most heartwarming aspects of today's country scene is the sense of camaraderie that pervades it - something that was highlighted during Nashville's Big Bash, with an array of artists joining together to celebrate a stellar year for the genre.
Two performers, Jelly Roll and Shaboozey, were filmed backstage during the event letting loose to one of the biggest songs of 2024, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's ‘I Had Some Help’, with Jelly and Shaboozey dancing jubilantly and singing along as the infectious, uptempo earworm reverberates across the speakers.
Jelly Roll and Shaboozey have struck up an endearing friendship throughout 2024, with the latter opening on a number of Jelly's expansive Beautifully Broken tour-dates.
The two artists shared a special moment during Jelly Roll's final show on that run, with Jelly inviting Shaboozey out on-stage during his headline performance to pay tribute to both the ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ hitmaker's artistry and personality.
The ‘Need a Favor’ crooner toasted Shaboozey, “It's the last night of the tour and I wanna say it to your face in front of 15,000 people. You've got the No. 1 song in the world and you've broken records by having the biggest song on earth. Anybody who says you are a one hit wonder is sadly mistaken. I'm saying you're gonna be here a long time. This will not be the last time you have the No. 1 song in the world”.
Jelly Roll went on, “I pray one day you're in the stadiums and I pray I'm opening up for you. You literally could have went on tour with anybody and you picked the Jelly Roll tour. You are a fucking man of integrity. I stand beside you. I stand behind you and I stand in front of you. Y'all make some noise for my brother, Shaboozey!”
Given how ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ has spent a record-breaking 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, it's safe to say Jelly Roll's prediction about Shaboozey one day playing stadiums feels accurate. Later in 2025, Jelly will be performing for a host of stadiums himself, as he joins Post Malone on his Big Ass Stadium Tour.
With Jelly Roll and Shaboozey tipping their caps to ‘I Had Some Help’ in this jovial New Year's Eve video, we're hoping it's not too long before Shaboozey links up with Post Malone and Morgan Wallen in the studio. Jelly guested on one of the many stand-outs from Post's debut country album, F-1Trillion, which dropped back in August 2024.
There have been rumblings of a collaboration between Shaboozey and Morgan Wallen being in the works, with both of these chart-toppers’ abilities to seamlessly blend genres such as country, trap and Hip-Hop surely set to make this a perfect match-up.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Shaboozey even suggested that Morgan Wallen was initially meant to feature on his 2024 album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going.
A Jelly Roll and Shaboozey duet would also make a lot of sense, especially given the sweet bond the artists share. Although there have been no rumours just yet of these two joining forces, rapper BigXthaPlug has teased a new EP featuring Shaboozey, Jelly Roll, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen - so perhaps it won't be too long before we get to hear these four country titans together on the same project.
As this New Year's Eve video proves, if BigXthaPlug is choosing which artists to make music videos with, Jelly Roll and Shaboozey should be prime candidates for their dance skills alone...
