When you grow up in a small town and you break up with someone, only one of you gets to keep the town. The other one has to either move away or feel the heartbreak over and over again every time they leave the house, seeing everything that reminds them of their ex everywhere they turn. Unless of course, they decide to just stay living in that small town and never ever leave the house again.
That’s the solution Drew Green has come up with on ‘Town Drunk.’
“I don’t wanna leave the house / I don’t wanna see you out,” he sings on the cut from his latest Whiskey on Whiskey EP released last week. “I turn into a different person / Killin’ Bourbon ‘cause im hurtin’ girl right now / And the only way I can stand staying in this town is to Stay in this town drunk.”
Now the song has an appropriately house bound video directed by Acacia Evans to go along with it.
"Shooting the video for 'Town Drunk' was crazy 'cause I never left the couch, but somehow the producer kept it so interesting,” says Green. “It was such a fun day with the crew and I can't wait to do more with them. I hope everyone enjoys the video and feels the emotion the producer and I tried to make happen - all from the couch."

Born in McMinnville, Tennessee, Drew Green grew up on a tree farm where his family introduced him to country artists like Sammy Kershaw and Alan Jackson. During his teens he began expanding his ears as friends exposed him to a mix of hip-hop, pop, and R&B performers, including Usher, Craig David, Matchbox Twenty, and Dr. Dre.
He played in bands in high school and continued to hone his songwriting skills at college. Following his graduation, Green based himself in Nashville, singing in the house band at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and working a day job at a bank, all the while pursuing a songwriting career. He eventually gained a foothold in the industry, co-penning songs like Florida Georgia Line's ‘Colorado’ with HARDY and Hunter Phelps.
Drew Green’s Whiskey on Whiskey EP is out now on RECORDS label/Columbia Records.
