After teasing a link-up a few weeks ago, Carly Pearce and Riley Green have dropped their new duet, ‘If I Don't Leave, I'm Gonna Stay’, along with the sensual music video.

The track finds Pearce and Green trading romantic, conflicted verses about desperately wanting to fall back into one another's arms, despite knowing it always ends badly.

The visuals bring the passionate narrative to life, with Pearce and Green stepping into the roles of the two part-time lovers. Shots of the country titans - both of whom are signed to Nashville Harbor Records (formerly Big Machine) - are interspersed with clips of each artist alone, capturing the will-they-won't-they spirit of the track.

Speaking ahead of the unveiling, Pearce explains why Green was the ideal duet partner, “Collaborating with artists I’m a fan of is one of my favorite things to do. I’ve been a fan of Riley’s for so long and knew if we could find the right moment, it would be special. ‘If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay’ is the perfect moment for us!”

Green echoes the Kentucky native's enthusiasm, ““I've been a huge fan of Carly and her voice for a long time, so it was cool to get the text from her about this song. The harmonies were unique and there was something really different about it. I'm glad she thought of me for this song, it's awesome to get to do something together”.

Inevitably, Green's appearance on the song has stirred up a buzz online due to the fact that the ‘Worst Way’ hitmaker's previous duets, both with Ella Langley, was surrounded by such intense speculation about whether the artists were dating, which was then heightened further by rumours of a love triangle with Megan Moroney.

With ‘If I Don't Leave I'm Gonna Stay’, given the fact that Pearce is publicly in a relationship, the excitement is more around the star-power of these two artists, and the gravitas they each bring. The infectious track is expected to feature on Pearce's keenly anticipated new album alongside the beautifully intricate ‘Church Girl’.
