Although alt-country trailblazer, Tyler Childers, continues to enjoy widespread acclaim for his 2022 triple-album, Can I Take My Hounds To Heaven?, it's an older project that today racked up a new accolade for the Kentucky singer-songwriter.
Childers’ 2019 album, Country Squire, has been certified Gold, in recognition of the project moving the equivalent of 500,000 units.
Upon its release, critics celebrated the album's eclectic mix of sounds and stylistic influences, while fans also championed Country Squire as an immediate classic.
The project debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.
One of the stand-out tracks from Country Squire, ‘All Your’n’, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Solo Country Performance.
The project was produced by Tyler Childers’ mentor, Sturgill Simpson, with many viewing Childers as taking the baton and keeping the fire burning for Simpson's left-field brand of metaphysical country.
Although it's unclear whether any new music is on the way from Childers, fans will get plenty of opportunities to enjoy his array of hits this year at a variety of festivals and tour dates.
Tyler Childers is set to perform at Bonnaroo, Echoland, Railbird, Willie Nelson's 90th Birthday Celebration and more.
The ‘Angel Band’ hitmaker is also preparing to embark on his 2023 Send in the Hounds world tour, which kicks off on February 9 in London, UK.
