The Lumineers have unveiled a one-off show at London's Hoxton Hall for Friday, January 17th 2025, with all proceeds from the special performance benefiting War Child. The trailblazing charity seeks to aid and protect children who are affected by conflict.
In an official statement, the Live Music Lead at War Child, Clare Sanders-Wright, expressed her gratitude for The Lumineers’ keenness to support the cause through the show, “We're incredibly grateful to The Lumineers and their team for donating their time and talents to help raise money for us with what I'm sure will be a beautifully intimate show at Hoxton Hall and fans are in for a real treat”.
She went on, “No child should ever be a part of war, and with the past year being particularly dire, it means that much more to be supported in our work, both by The Lumineers and their team, and to everyone that donates. Every penny raised helps us to provide desperately needed emergency aid, psychological support, education, and more for children caught in conflict zones around the world”.
Tickets to this Hoxton Hall show are available via a prize draw. Fans that are hoping to attend need to buy ballot entries via The Lumineers’ website. Winners will receive a pair of tickets to their January 17th show, with 100 pairs of tickets up for grabs. The ballot is open now, and closes on 11:59pm on Tuesday, January 14th.
The Hoxton Hall announcement comes hot on the heels of The Lumineers’ exciting confirmation that they have a new album up their sleeves, with the folk titans set to drop their fifth studio effort, Automatic, on Valentine's Day (February 14th). The lead single from the project, ‘Same Old Song’, arrived earlier in January.
Michael Marcagi is a welcome addition to this forthcoming War Child show, with the ‘Scared to Start’ hitmaker also supporting The Lumineers’ Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites on their expansive 2025 UK and European tour later in the year.
The fast-emerging Michael Marcagi, who is quickly establishing himself as a future star in the folk world, has worked with Wesley Schultz in the past, with the two artists joining forces to pen Marcagi's infectious October 2024 offering, ‘Good Enough’.
