During his speech at the opening of his Country Music Hall of Fame exhibition, Kenny Chesney reflects on why performing live is one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.

He was speaking at the opening of his Living in Fast Forward exhibition, which is running at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee from July 2026 to June 2027.

In the moving clip, Chesney begins by explaining how it was both a little odd and very emotional to see the story of his career presented to him, “It's really interesting to see your life laid out like that, because I lived it once, but to see it again is really strange. The thing that I saw when I first walked in is the amount of fun that we've had”.

The Knoxville native emphasises why he loves the feeling of performing so much, “You know, to go out there on stage every night and give energy and get that energy back is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. It is the highlight of my life”.

The ‘I Go Back’ hitmaker excitedly concludes, “To stand here in front of you guys tonight and to see all of that displayed, all the colour, all the energy, all the love that you're gonna see in this exhibit is everything that we have lived for 30-something years”.

It's a particularly special exhibition for Chesney, given the fact that he received the incredible honour of being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame back in October 2025.

With Chesney releasing his first book, HEART*LIFE*MUSIC, last November, as well as concluding his historic run of shows as the first every country artist to headline Sphere Las Vegas, it must feel particularly touching to get to look back at his career through this new Country Music Hall of Fame Living in Fast Forward exhibition.

But rest assured that, as well as reflecting, Chesney continues to look forward, too, with his loyal No Shoes Nation fanbase counting down the days until the arrival of his new studio album, Silver Sands Marina, on September 25th, 2026. Given his comments about the joys of performing live, we're hoping that, in tandem with the release of this project, he'll be unveiling one of his iconic summer stadium tours.
