Never in a million years would we have thought that country legend Tanya Tucker and icon RuPaul would team to create a song, but we're all for surprises. And this is a big one.

The pair have released a new duet called 'This Is Our Country'.

The country-trap song is sass all the way down the line. Against a hip-hop beat and banjo fingering, they sing, "This is our country, oh-oh-oh/ Honey, I can be a queen or I can be a cowboy".

Each verse tells the story of their misfit starts, bucking a system that didn't know what to do with them. "They told me I was born too wild, but I was just a wide-eyed child", Tucker sings on her verse.

RuPaul comes in next, singing about the restrictions his father faced and how it inspired him to forge his own path. "They made my daddy wait in line/ He said, 'Son, don't waste your time'"," he sings.

If you're wondering where in the world this magic came from, Tucker appeared on Drag Race All Stars 6 earlier this season.

In the episode, she and RuPaul revealed they'd be collaborating and asked contestants to write verses for the song.

Tucker recently released a new live album, Live from the Troubadour, which features songs from her award-winning 2019 album While I'm Livin'.

She worked with Brandi Carlile for that record, and the two are partnering once again for Tucker's follow-up.

Tucker, meanwhile, is currently on her Bring My Flowers Now tour, which runs through October.
