Although many country fans aspire to attend Nashville's Big Bash or even Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin’ Eve on December 31, this year, genre-blending maverick Sierra Ferrell gave the traditional New Year's Eve heavyweights a run for their money.
Ferrell put on a special New Year's Eve Circus Spectacular at Nashville's Brooklyn Bowl, and it's safe to say that the show lived up to its name.
Featuring a variety of circus-themed acts and explosions of colour at every opportunity, it served as a fitting way to ring in 2023.
The West Virginia singer-songwriter performed a number of fan-favourites, as well as the unreleased track, ‘I Can Drive You Crazy’.
After a relatively quiet 2022 for Ferrell on the new music front, fans will be hoping that the song could be a teaser from an upcoming album.
In 2022, Ferrell released a series of alternative versions of tracks from her acclaimed 2021 album, Long Time Coming, and listeners are eagerly awaiting news of her sophomore project.
The festive Brooklyn Bowl set featured an eclectic mix of wonderfully wacky moments, including Ferrell singing while swinging from a rainbow-draped trapeze.
The New Year's Eve Circus Spectacular will have heightened fans' sense of anticipation ahead of Sierra Ferrell's 2023 tour, which will include appearances at festivals such as Railbird, FreshGrass and Tønder.
