Shania Twain has penned a heartfelt message to fans, explaining why she has decided to released six new songs as part of her Little Miss Twain - The Places I'll Go deluxe album.

The country legend shared the original version of Little Miss Twain back in July, with the wonderfully eclectic and nostalgic record exploring vibrant vignettes from Twain's youth.

As Twain muses via Instagram, the ‘You're Still The One’ hitmaker had some more stories she wanted to share with fans, with all the pieces of the Little Miss Twain - The Places I'll Go puzzle combining to present a fascinating portrait of her journey to Nashville.

The Canadian country trailblazer reflects, “If you wanna get to know herrrr... Listen to Little Miss Twain – The Places I’ll Go!! 21 songs later and I think you probably know me pretty well by now 😂 It’s been so much fun looking back at the girl I was before Nashville and remembering just how determined she was to get somewhere even if she had absolutely no idea where “somewhere” was going to be”.

Twain expresses her gratitude for the numerous fans and listeners that have shown love to the project this year, “To everyone who has listened, shared your own stories with me or found a little piece of yourself somewhere in these songs, thank you ❤️”

Via an earlier Instagram post, Twain offered fans an insight into the inspiration behind each of the new songs. Twain dons ‘Trippin on Good Luck’ “a fun play on words tune that's all about positive change”, while she describes ‘Who Do You Love’ - a genre-blurring collaboration with The Milk Carton Kids - as “a song reflecting on first loves and crushes from my youth back home in Timmins, Ontario”.

Alongside these two, fans can listen to ‘What's Going On In There’, ‘We Just Met’, ‘Hate That Way’ and ‘The Places I'll Go’ on the newly unveiled version of Little Miss Twain.

Although Twain's status as one of the most influential artists in country music history was cemented a long time ago, the ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ singer-songwriter continues to show that she's still willing to experiment and push her artistic boundaries.

Rather than making a commercial, radio-friendly album, Twain decided to strip it all back and take a creative risk with Little Miss Twain, exploring Southern Rock, alt-country, bluegrass and Gospel across the refreshingly varied collection of songs.

Regardless of whether you might prefer Twain's older material or her more pop-leaning anthems, you have to admire the ‘From This Moment On’ chart-topper's ongoing dedication to her craft, and her refusal to play it safe and create within a box.
