Shortly after being crowned ACM Entertainer of the Year for the second year running at the star-studded Frisco, Texas ceremony last night (Thursday, May 9th 2025), the official ACM Awards page shared Lainey Wilson's candid reaction to this triumph.
The ‘Bell Bottoms Up‘ singer-songwriter was filmed walking out of the arena alongside her fiancé, Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges, following her colossal victory. Lainey Wilson is understandably emotional, with the Louisiana native shaking her head in disbelief.
Wilson stops briefly to fan herself as she holds back tears, with Hodges smiling proudly next to the country trailblazer. It feels like a pertinent moment being captured, and the ‘4X4XU’ crooner's impassioned reaction highlighting just how titanic her feat is.
As well as winning ACM Entertainer of the Year for the second consecutive year, Lainey Wilson returns home from the Frisco, Texas ceremony with the awards for Artist-Songwriter of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for Whirlwind.
It continues a stellar streak for Lainey Wilson, with the ‘Heart Like a Truck’ hitmaker cementing herself as a modern country icon through both her array of awards and her electrifying ACM performance alongside Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert.
The trio delivered a rousing rendition of their stunning new single, ‘Trailblazer’, which pays homage to the way in which leading female country artists help the next generations.
In addition, Lainey Wilson took the stage for a rip-roaring performance of the title-track from her ACM Album of the Year-winning record, ‘Whirlwind’. While some fans are disgruntled at the fact that other artists in the genre may be posting bigger numbers or selling out larger venues, such as Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs, there's no denying that Wilson is one of today's greatest country entertainers.
