During the opening night of her Short n’ Sweet tour in Columbus, Ohio, Sabrina Carpenter treated the packed-out crowd to a stellar performance of her much-loved 2024 track, ‘Slim Pickins’.

The surprising country inclusion on the pop megastar's new album, Short n’ Sweet, which arrived in August, has quickly blossomed into one of the many stand-outs on the lauded record.

Towards the start of Sabrina Carpenter's live rendition of ’Slim Pickins’ at the Nationwide Arena, the audience lapped up the moment she took a shot partway through her performance. The hilariously nonchalant move captured the playful, tongue-in-cheek tone of the track, which finds her bemoaning the lack of decent men on offer.

The rest of Sabrina Carpenter's performance of ‘Slim Pickins’ was pervaded by the ‘Taste’ singer-songwriter's trademark energy and charisma, with Sabrina cementing herself as one of the biggest artists of 2024 throughout her enchanting Ohio set.

In addition to ‘Slim Pickins’, the Pennsylvania native serenaded the fervent crowd with electrifying renditions of her multi-Diamond smashes, ‘Please Please Please’ and ’Espresso’. While many artists choose a selection of tracks from their latest project to introduce into their setlist, Sabrina Carpenter made an excitingly unique move by performing her new album, Short n’ Sweet, in full at the Nationwide Arena.

Attendees were somewhat saddened to see the omission of Sabrina Carpenter's signature ‘Nonsense’ outro in Columbus, with Sabrina usually closing out this section of performance with an amusing, light-hearted - and often somewhat risqué - freestyle. This part of Sabrina Carpenter's show has drawn some criticism in recent months, due to what various commentators deemed ‘vulgar’ content.

Sabrina Carpenter seemingly delivered a clever, thinly veiled nod to those detractors. When the time came to provide her ‘Nonsense’ outro, she appeared to be singing into the microphone as she was lowered into the stage, but no sound emerged. Then, a notice flashed up on the big screen that read, “We apologize for the interruption of our program due to technical difficulties”. Many of Sabrina's aficionados have taken this to signify the end of the ‘Nonsense’ outros altogether.

Next, Sabrina Carpenter travels to Toronto, Canada for her keenly anticipated performance at Ontario's Scotiabank Arena, which is lined up for Wednesday, September 25th.
