Sabrina Carpenter brought out country superstar Kacey Musgraves during her Outside Lands 2024 set, with the duo covering Nancy Sinatra's ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin’.
The unexpected duet served as one of the many highlights from Sabrina's hit-filled set, which also featured stellar renditions of ‘Espresso’, ‘Please Please Please’ and ‘Paris’.
The San Francisco crowd erupted in a sea of screams when Sabrina Carpenter introduced her friend and ’Deeper Well’ singer-songwriter, with Kacey asking Sabrina teasingly, “Do you think they're ready?” before Sabrina joked, ”I don't think they're ready, y'all!”
Sabrina Carpenter was headlining the popular California festival on Saturday (August 10), with the pop chart-topper joined on the eclectic, genre-blending bill by the likes of Grace Jones, Schoolboy Q, Charley Crockett, Chris Lake, The Postal Service, Medium Build, Mimi Webb, Ryan Beatty, Men I Trust, Fletcher and Channel Tres.
Given the influx of pop, rap and R&B heavyweights into the country music world this year, we're hoping her playful link-up with Kacey Musgraves might be a hint that Sabrina Carpenter is gearing up to be the next global phenom to venture into Music City.
The following evening at Outside Lands Festival, Post Malone delivered a sprawling, energising country set, featuring covers of Luke Combs’ ‘When It Rains It Pours’, David Lee Murphy's ‘Dust on the Bottle’ alongside David Lee himself and more.
