Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's earworm collaboration, ‘I Had Some Help’, has notched a fifth consecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100, seeing out stiff competition from Sabrina Carpenter's infectious new single, ‘Please, Please, Please’.
Carpenter's latest track has to settle for No. 2, with the Pennsylvania phenom also securing third place with her viral hit, ‘Espresso’. Shaboozey's rowdy, uptempo anthem, ’A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ and Tommy Richman's ‘Million Dollar Baby’ complete the Top Five.
‘I Had Some Help’ is Posty's sixth Hot 100 chart-topper and Morgan's second, following the record-obliterating success of his 2023 track, ‘Last Night’, which spent 16 weeks at No. 1.
‘I Had Some Help’, which is expected to be the lead single from Post Malone's keenly awaited debut country album, arrived on May 10th after months of teasers and tantalising snippets, and was accompanied by a light-hearted video starring the two artists.
With Post Malone confirming the next song to be released from his forthcoming record is his feel-good Blake Shelton collaboration, ’Pour Me a Drink’, this Friday (June 21st), if ‘I Had Some Help’ can hold onto No. 1 for another week, then it's a distinct possibility that Posty might replace himself at the pinnacle of the chart.
The previously shared clips of ‘Pour Me a Drink’ have been spreading like wildfire across social media, with the sense of anticipation surging again when Post Malone and Blake Shelton delivered a surprise performance of their new track at CMA Fest 2024.
Similarly, with Morgan Wallen readying the lead single from his new album, ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’, for a July 4th release, it looks like we're in for another summer dominated by country music.
