On May 10, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's infectious, long-teased new single, ‘I Had Some Help’, earned the biggest streaming day of all time for a country song on Spotify.
The uptempo earworm picked up a staggering total of 15.9 million global Spotify streams on its release date, with ‘I Had Some Help’ also shattering the record for the most streams accumulated in a day by an all-male collaboration across any genre.
Unsurprisingly, ‘I Had Some Help’ shot straight to No. 1 on the iTunes and Apple Music charts, with the star-power of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen helping to propel the viral track into pole position for Spotify's 2024 Song of the Summer - an accolade Morgan won last year for his record-obliterating single, ’Last Night’.
‘I Had Some Help’ is the lead single from Post Malone's forthcoming debut country album, with the project expected to arrive later this year featuring additional blockbuster collaborations with Luke Combs and other big-name acts within the genre.
We were already incredibly excited ahead of the long-awaited record, with the ’Chemical’ hitmaker having hinted at a foray into country music for a number of years now. But it's safe to say ‘I Had Some Help’ has dialled up the sense of anticipation another notch.
With the immense popularity already being enjoyed by ’I Had Some Help’ and its new music video, Posty and Morgan's track looks set to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
After the latter's success on the Hot 100 chart in 2023 with his monster hit, ‘Last Night’, Morgan Wallen is gearing up for another momentous year, with the Sneedville singer-songwriter continuing to elevate the genre's visibility alongside Post Malone.
