Parker McCollum's new album rollout just received an extra boost, as the RIAA revealed that the upcoming project's lead single, ‘Handle On You’, has been certified Gold.

The song recently surged into the Top 5 on Mediabase's Country Radio chart, and it would be surprising if it peaked there.

‘Handle On You’, which was released back in August 2022, finds the Texas crooner stepping into the familiar shoes of the heartbroken, whiskey-soaked romantic of ‘Drinkin’’ and ‘Why Indiana’.

It's full of witty, playful lines such as “I tell myself that I should quit but I don't listen to drunks / I keep on sippin' 'til ‘I miss you’ don't roll off my tongue”.

Despite the forlorn subject matter, it's an infectious, uptempo earworm that has become McCollum's fastest-growing single so far - an impressive feat, given the fact that he already has a double-Platinum song to his name, 2019's ‘Pretty Heart’.

The news of the singer-songwriter's latest Gold certification came shortly after McCollum was confirmed as an upcoming guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He's due to dazzle the show's million-plus viewership with his newly Gold single on tonight's instalment.

‘Handle On You’, which was recently given an accompanying set of visuals, will be included on Parker McCollum's new album, Never Enough.

The eagerly awaited project is set to be released on May 12, and will also feature two of the ‘To Be Loved By You’ hitmaker's latest singles, ‘Speed’ and ’I Ain't Going Nowhere’.

The new record, which will serve as the follow-up to McCollum's breakout 2021 album, Gold Chain Cowboy, is shaping up to be a key marker-post in the young star's ascent.

He's considered by many to be one of the most exciting acts to have emerged within country music in the past few years, and it'll therefore be fascinating to see whether Never Enough propels him even higher towards the upper echelons of the genre.
