In a new interview, Noah Kahan has credited Taylor Swift as being the pivotal figure that introduced folk to a brand new generation of listeners through her Folklore and Evermore projects.

Speaking to Billboard, Noah explained how Taylor's impact shouldn't be underestimated, “The biggest artist in the world is writing very grounded folk music that tells stories, and it allowed a huge new audience to find interest in that and to tap into that world”.

The ‘Northern Attitude’ hitmaker underlined, “Some of these kids might not have been listening to music when Mumford & Sons, when Lumineers [were first around]. Taylor doing that brought that new generation to folk and folk-pop”.

Noah Kahan credited Taylor with expanding her fans’ horizons to include his own folk-leaning sound, which he showcased on his hugely popular Stick Season record, “I definitely think that helped bring visibility, and some sort of significance, to what I was doing”.

The Vermont songsmith has spoken in the past about his appreciation for Taylor Swift, with Noah having shared photos from Taylor's Eras tour, as well as uploading lauded covers of the global megastar's ‘Champagne Problems’ and ‘This Is Me Trying’.

Given Noah Kahan's track record of blockbuster collaborations, it's safe to say fans would love to see a link-up between the bearded crooner and Taylor Swift. Before we get that dream duet, though, Noah is releasing his long-awaited track, ‘Forever’, as well as revamped versions of ‘Paul Revere’ and ‘You're Gonna Go Far’, on February 2nd.
