Well, at least this writer (and Fulham FC fan) thinks so...
Noah Kahan took some time out from his accelerating - and deeply exciting - album rollout this weekend to hang out with Fulham FC and USA soccer legend, Clint Dempsey.
Dempsey is probably most known for his role as the captain of the USA football team, with the striker becoming the first player in the country's history to score in three World Cups.
But on this side of The Pond, Dempsey will always be remembered as one of the greatest players to ever don the hallowed black-and-white Fulham FC jersey, with the Texas native cementing himself in Craven Cottage's history books during his five-and-a-half year stint (before returning for a brief swan-song later on). To this day, Dempsey remains the club's leading Premier League goal-scorer, and Fulham fans still dream about his iconic 2010 chip in the 82nd minute to defeat Juventus, and send Fulham through to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Kahan is currently gearing up to unveil his eagerly anticipated new album, with the ‘Stick Season’ hitmaker creating a secret TikTok account titled @thelastofthebugs and teasing an unreleased song. The Vermont singer-songwriter has been in the studio over the past few months, finishing up his Stick Season follow-up, which is expected to drop in 2026 and feature fan-favourites such as ’The Great Divide’, ’Deny, Deny, Deny’, ‘All Them Horses’ and ‘Nothing To Report’.
Most fans probably don't know that Dempsey tried his hand at music around two decades ago, when he collaborated with rappers Big Hawk and XO for the soccer-themed ‘Don't Tread’. Dempsey recorded the fiery joint track under the moniker of ‘Deuce’.
Could Deuce be emerging out of the woodwork for a genre-blurring collaboration with famed football fanatic, Noah Kahan? We doubt it, and we're not sure Dempsey's rap-leaning sound would mesh with Kahan's atmospheric folk-driven textures.
Either way, we loved seeing this unexpected crossover, and hopefully Dempsey wasn't too put off by the fact that Kahan is a loyal supporter of Fulham's arch rivals, Chelsea FC...
