Although Noah Kahan undoubtedly loves his UK and Ireland fans, it seems there was an ulterior motive behind the Vermont singer-songwriter's decision to take his hugely popular We'll All Be Here Forever tour across The Pond again throughout August...

This weekend saw the opening series of Premier League football games in the 2024/25 season, with one of the biggest matches taking place between Noah's beloved and beleaguered Chelsea FC and the reigning champions, Manchester City, on Sunday.

The ‘Stick Season’ hitmaker reinforced his status as one of the most relatable stars in music, by leaving a brief gap in-between his Northern Ireland and Birmingham tour-dates, so he could nip down to Stamford Bridge and watch the Blues’ first game.

In trademark Noah Kahan fashion, the folk-leaning crooner stopped by the NBC Sports pundits’ desk for a highly amusing, light-hearted pre-match interview, during which he offered his tongue-in-cheek analysis of Chelsea's heavy-spending summer.

He advised, “First and foremost, have a lot of patience, there's a lot going on, a lot of new players”, before turning to the camera and pointedly underlining, “...A lot of new players...”

Noah Kahan went on to stress that Chelsea's new coach, Enzo Maresca, needs time before the team will gel in the way fans expect, “I trust him, I want to trust the process. I think, as Chelsea fans, we want results, I want to see Champions League football next year”. Chelsea ultimately lost 2-0 to a well-oiled Manchester City team, with the match serving as a reminder of the progress required this season.

Hilariously, when asked if he'd rather choose football over a music career, if he could have his time again, Noah Kahan quipped, “I think football. If I could get one touch against Wigan Athletic on a disgusting Tuesday night, I would trade it all for that”.

Noah Kahan has spoken previously about his love for Chelsea, with the much-loved chart-topper stressing in March, when he met a few members of the Chelsea FC Women team, that the Champions League victory in 2012 was the best day of his life.

Noah Kahan joked, “Watching Didier Drogba score that header...Like, [being] nominated for a Grammy, very cool. But ‘Drogba!’ - way cooler”, before explaining, “My neighbours in Strafford, Vermont, where I grew up, had a house in London. They lived next to Frank Lampard, so they would come back and talk about Chelsea, and I was just like, ‘That's so cool’. I started watching games with my mom, haven't missed one in 13 years. Mom would take me out of school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Champions League...I used to have friends over on the weekends, and they just had to wake up at 7am to watch Chelsea with me”.

He went on to highlight the lengths he goes to when out on the road to watch every single Chelsea match, “It makes me yell at the TV or [I'll be] screaming, so happy. I was just in Australia, getting up at 3:45am - for a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa...”

Noah is set to play a double-header of shows at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday and Thursday (August 21 and 22) as he continues his 2024 We'll All Be Here Forever tour.
