Nate Smith has teased a blockbuster new collaboration with a mystery guest, with the ‘Bulletproof’ crooner asking fans to attempt to decipher who the vocalist is from a social media snippet of the forthcoming track, titled, ‘Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend’.
Given Nate Smith's penchant for rock-leaning, electric-guitar-powered textures, fans have been calling for Smith to join forces with arguably the most prominent country-rocker in the modern landscape - HARDY - for a couple of years now.
Judging by the clip Smith has just shared across his socials, it seems we might at long last be in store for that keenly anticipated collaboration, with the other vocals in the ‘Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend’ snippet certainly sounding a lot like HARDY's distinctive drawl.
The fact that HARDY has commented, ‘She’s a b*tch honestly’, with Smith responding, ‘@hardy and she doesn't even realize it’, seemingly adds weight to fans’ suspicions that ‘Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend’ is a collaboration between these chart-toppers.
The snippet finds the vocalists warning their buddy that his partner is making her fair share of enemies, with the track being propelled by an arsenal of rowdy, muscled-up guitars.
Should the guest indeed be HARDY, it would mark the first time Nate Smith and the ‘A ROCK’ singer-songwriter have joined forces as vocalists. Even so, the duo already have an impressive track record of behind-the-scenes collaborations.
For instance, HARDY penned one of Nate Smith's fan-favourite hits, ‘Better Boy’, while Smith featured on one of HARDY's HIXTAPE Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE stand-outs, ‘So Help Me Girl’. HARDY and Smith have also been tour-mates in the past, opening up together for Morgan Wallen on a handful of his 2023 One Night At A Time shows.
There's no release date yet for ‘Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend’, but given Nate Smith's impressive history of Country Radio No. 1s and HARDY's status as one of Nashville's leading songsmiths, we're sure that when this collaboration arrives, it'll be seismic.
