After a stacked first season soundtrack, Taylor Sheridan's hit neo-Western series, Landman, is back for its eagerly awaited second instalment, with the explosive opening episode premiering last night (Sunday, November 16th) on Paramount Plus.
The story resumes with Billy Bob Thornton - who plays West Texas Oil magnate, Tommy Norris - navigating the relentless array of challenges being thrown his way.
We won't give away any spoilers plot-wise, just in case you're yet to watch last night's episode, but one thing we can reveal is that the soundtrack is already shaping up to be another top-tier body of work. In the first episode of Season 2, we were treated to tracks from Ella Langley, Turnpike Troubadours, Charley Crockett and more.
Viewers were able to enjoy Langley's hungover stand-out, ‘cowboy friends’, as well as two Turnpike Troubadours gems, ‘Nothing You Can Do’ and ‘The Devil Plies His Trade’.
Charley Crockett's ‘Game I Can't Win‘ is another beloved anthem that made its way into the Season 2 opener, along with Benjamin Tod's ‘Wyoming’. Eagled-eyed - or rather, eagled-eared - fans will have also noticed a couple of older classics, Dean Martin's ‘Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare)’ and Louis Prima's ‘Buona Sera’.
Langley, Turnpike and Crockett have long been go-to artists for Landman's Music Supervisor, Andrea von Foerster, who also served the same role for another Sheridan hit - Yellowstone. Both Landman and Yellowstone have become renowned for their incorporation of alt-country, Americana and outlaw country music into the shows. Tod, meanwhile, makes his Landman soundtrack debut with ‘Wyoming’.
The second episode of Landman Season 2 arrives next Sunday (November 23rd), with new instalments dropping every Sunday until the blockbuster finale on January 18th, 2026.
