In a new episode of Morgan Wallen Radio on SiriusXM, Wallen has opened up about the challenges he has faced when putting together his 2026 Still the Problem Tour setlist.

When asked the question of how he whittles down his expansive catalogue of hits and chart-toppers for a live show, the Sneedville native admits it's become an increasingly tough task.

The ‘Last Night’ hitmaker muses, “It's still quite difficult, just because of the amount of songs that I have. You know, I could easily make a setlist that lasted, you know, three hours long, probably four hours long, if I really got to play all the songs that I wanted”.

We - and many other fans - certainly wouldn't object to a Wallen show that lasted this long, but with curfews and the number of openers he has with him, it's just not feasible.

Wallen goes on to reflect that there are some hits that are so iconic that they simply have to be included, “So it's challenging to try and make a setlist that checks all the boxes. There's obviously some songs that are no-brainers in the set”. We imagine here he's talking about songs like ‘Last Night’, which reigned atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a staggering 16 weeks, along with ‘Whiskey Glasses’ and ‘Cover Me Up’.

Interestingly, Wallen hints that he and his team have been experimenting with attempting to blend some tracks together, so the ‘7 Summers’ crooner can pack even more into his set. Wallen reveals “[we're] trying to mix a couple of songs together to save time, things like that. We're working on quite a few different things this year”.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Wallen outlines what he wants his attendees to experience when they see him performing live, “I hope they take home just a piece of my whole catalogue. I like to think that we've really kind of got a little bit of everything from Day One for this tour, and that's the first time that I've felt that way”.

Usually, Wallen's tours are centred more noticeably around his latest body of work. Last year, for instance, the I'm the Problem Tour setlist was heavily focussed on tracks from the new album - and rightly so, given there were 37 new songs to play with.

But now that this project has had time to breathe and Wallen is in the middle of his sequential Still the Problem run, it's refreshing to see the country titan adding older fan-favourites into the mix, such as ‘Chasin’ You’, ‘7 Summers’ and ‘More Than My Hometown’.

With a blockbuster double-header on the books this weekend at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, we're excited to see whether he rejigs the setlist any more, and perhaps tests out this curious remixing strategy he and his team have been exploring of late.

What's more, with Wallen sharing a new carousel of photos of him in the studio via Instagram, it seems more new music may be on the horizon soon. Following his momentous duet with Ella Langley last week, ‘I Can't Love You Anymore’, we're excited to see whether he debuts any new material during his live shows in the coming months.
