As Morgan Wallen's 2021 album, Dangerous, continues to break new records, it would have been understandable for there to have been some apprehension as to how he'd possibly follow-up such a successful project.
However, judging from the reception of Wallen's latest three songs, which will feature on his upcoming record, One Thing At A Time, it seems the singer-songwriter has nothing to worry about.
The popularity of ‘Last Night’, ‘Everything I Love’ and ‘I Wrote The Book’ has propelled Morgan Wallen back to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart.
Having spent a number of weeks in the top ten, this week Wallen leapfrogged SZA and Taylor Swift to secure the top spot.
Wallen's latest triumph comes shortly after ‘Last Night’ shot to No. 1 on Spotify's Top Songs Debut chart. The moody, beat-driven track has so far performed the best out of the Knoxville native's most recent trio of releases, although the retro, Allman Brothers-inspired anthem, ‘Everything I Love’, has also quickly become a fan-favourite.
In addition, ‘Last Night’ has soared to No. 1 on Billboard's prestigious Hot Country Songs Chart, with Wallen's ‘Thought You Should Know’ and ‘You Proof’ solidifying his dominance over the Top 3.
On Billboard's all-genre Hot 100, ‘Last Night’ has risen from No. 27 to No. 3, becoming Morgan Wallen's highest charting song to date.
Morgan Wallen is currently readying his third studio album, One Thing At A Time, for March 3.
As well as comprising a staggering 36 songs, the genre-blending record will also feature hotly anticipated appearances from Eric Church, HARDY and Ernest.
As well as fuelling Wallen's ascent to the top of the Billboard Artist 100 chart, his new releases have also led many listeners to return to Dangerous, with the album surging back up to No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
