Gavin Adcock is teasing a brand new collaboration arriving this Friday (February 27th, 2026) - but there's a catch. The ‘Need To’ hitmaker hasn't yet revealed who it's with.
Addressing the camera while donning his signature aviators and a feather-adorned cowboy hat, Adcock teases, “What's going on? I got a collab coming out for y'all this Friday. Y'all are never gon’ guess who it is. Good luck, and I'll see y'all then”.
Naturally, fans speculation is now running wild as they look for any clues as to who Adcock has teamed up with on this new track, with the likes of Morgan Wallen, Ella Langley and Treaty Oak Revival all being touted. There's not a whole lot to go on just yet, but we've been doing some digging, and we have some potential candidates.
The biggest and most frequent name to appear in the comments under Adcock's cryptic post is, unsurprisingly, Morgan Wallen. Adcock and Wallen and good buddies, having spent time on the road together last year, and they'll be resuming their on-stage partnership this year, too, for Wallen's Still the Problem Tour. What's more, Adcock is one of the most high-profile artists signed to Wallen and Austin Neal's new agency, Sticks Management, which launched last summer.
Given the fact that Sticks is still a relatively new company, it would certainly make sense for Wallen - as one of the co-founders - to throw his weight behind Adcock with a valuable co-sign. As a result, we think we will one day get a blockbuster link-up between Adcock and Wallen, but given the fairly low-key way in which Adcock has teased this new collaboration, we don't think this is the moment for it.
Another somewhat left-field candidate is rapper That Mexican OT, who is close pals with Braxton Keith - a former tour-mate of Adcock's - and who spoke about wanting to work with Adcock during his appearance on a November 2025 podcast episode.
That Mexican OT gushed, “You know Gavin Adcock? That boy bad. Aw man, ‘cause sometimes I'll be on tour listening to his music, and I feel like he's writing about me”. Adcock quickly responded in the comments, sharing, “Mexican OT is badddd”.
Adcock did share a rather random video of him singing Happy Birthday to a stranger in a Mexican restaurant last week, which could be a subtle way of introducing a country and Mexican rap crossover collaboration. It would be a departure from Adcock's proudly classic country sound, but we could see this one happening.
After a scan through Adcock's ASCAP repertoire of credited songs, we've spotted a few more names that could be featured on the ‘Loose Strings’ singer-songwriter's new collaboration. Adcock has penned three songs with Thomas Rhett, including the already-released ’Sunset’ and two unreleased tracks, ‘Southern Fried Saturday Night’ and ‘Six Feet Over You’. This would undoubtedly be a fun link-up, but Rhett is one of Nashville's go-to songwriters - as well as being a country star - so it's possible these are mere co-writes, rather than collabs.
Similarly, Adcock has a track co-written with ‘Dust on the Bottle’ icon, David Lee Murphy, named ‘Most Wanted’. ‘Most Wanted’ sounds like a staple Adcock song-title, and we'd love to hear these two artists on a track together some day. But much like Rhett, Lee Murphy often lends his pen to up-and-coming artists and established chart-toppers alike, such as Kenny Chesney, so we're not sure the Illinois native is set to appear on ‘Most Wanted’ as a vocalist as well as a songwriter.
One name we're throwing into the ring is Dasha. On ASCAP, there is a song co-written by Adcock and Dasha, ‘Like It Never Happened’, along with Rhett Akins and Emily Weisband.
With Adcock hinting in his teaser video that he doesn't think fans would guess who his new collaboration is with, Dasha would certainly fit the bill. The ‘Austin’ crooner tends to lean towards more pop-infused anthems, and isn't someone you'd immediately place with Adcock's rowdy, whiskey-soaked and traditional-leaning aesthetic.
But maybe that's what would make this collaboration so captivating. Out of all the options, Dasha and That Mexican OT feel the most left-field, while duets with Thomas Rhett and David Lee Murphy would also be fantastic, if a little more predictable.
One other name that fans have been flooding the comments with is, hilariously, Zach Bryan - Adcock's nemesis. The duo nearly came to blows at Born & Raised Festival in Oklahoma last year, and have continued their war of words online ever since.
We think this would be a brilliant way to squash the beef, but alas, we don't see this one happening. We'll have to wait and see which artist Adcock has up his sleeve for this new collaboration - but if his recent releases, ’Perfect Man’, ‘Winner At Losing’ and ‘Colorblind’, are anything to go by, we're in for another country earworm.
