The Morgan Wallen Foundation has made a donation of $100,000 to renovate two youth baseball fields in Jefferson City, with it being 20 years since the spaces received any updates.

Morgan Wallen's charitable organisation has pledged $80,000 towards Roy Harmon Field - a venue Morgan played at during his childhood - via the City Parks Department and the remaining $20,000 to New Market Field through Jefferson City Little League.

The donation will contribute to the construction of new infields, bases, dug-outs, press boxes, backstop padding and fencing, with an estimated 300 children set to benefit. Morgan's connection with Jefferson City is widely known, due to him referencing the region in his famous ‘Thought You Should Know’ lyric (“I got me a new girl down in Jefferson City, and / She lets me fish whenever I want to”).

The Jefferson City Little League President, Robbie Britt, expressed their gratitude to the Morgan Wallen Foundation for this latest contribution, "Local little league is a pillar of the community - it creates a foundation for families to come together and enjoy an American pastime while teaching our youth skills that go beyond baseball. We'd like to thank Morgan Wallen Foundation for all of their support”.

Mitch Cain, the Major of Jefferson City, echoed Britt's sentiments and touched on the donation's impact, “Jefferson City is pleased to be a recipient of funding from the Morgan Wallen Foundation. This engagement is not only a financial donation, but an investment in the future health of our City. This resource allows us to install much needed improvements in our recreational facilities. These investments will benefit our kids, their families and this community for years to come”.

Cain expanded, “As a Public Servant, this is one of the most inspiring community projects I’ve been involved in over the past 15 years. Investing in people is one of the greatest priorities of City government, and this partnership with the Morgan Wallen Foundation has provided Jefferson City with a very bright future”.

He concluded with a heartfelt message to the organisation, “On behalf of the citizens of Jefferson City, we thank the Morgan Wallen Foundation for partnering with us. Their investment in our community and in our kids is making a positive difference”.

The Morgan Wallen Foundation was set up in 2021 with the objective of improving access and opportunities for young people to get involved in sports and music, two areas that were hugely influential pillars of Morgan's own upbringing in Tennessee. A portion of each ticket sold for the country megastar's blockbuster One Night At A Time tour is donated to the Morgan Wallen Foundation.
